St. Elizabeth Home Society (“Home Society”) is a registered Canadian charity, since 1967 with the mission of providing support to those experiencing conditions attributable to being aged through personal care assistance, accommodation, and education. Our vision is to be a community leader in providing reliable, consistent, and value-based services to those who are experiencing conditions attributable to being aged.

Originally based out of Hamilton, Home Society expanded its activities to Mississauga and subsequently, the Greater Toronto Area in response to the needs of older adults during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Home Society created its in-home service division Silver Services which provides in-home care services, transportation, and online programming for older adults. In 2024, Silver Services added an additional home upkeep service to help with minor tasks around the home to help older adults with living independently.

Home Society is also launching a new concept in assisted living accommodation, partnering with the U.S. based Green House Project to provide a home atmosphere, empowered elders and staff and a meaningful life. This project will be based in Hamilton.

Home Society also supports local charities and has partnered with several not-for-profit groups to ensure continued care and services for older adults.

Our Board of Directors brings knowledge and experience from a variety of industries, including finance, charity law, religion, academia and entrepreneurship.

Our Manhertz Principle is a trademarked proprietary multi-level diversified care system. It provides for the care of the elderly, according to their health condition(s) and is based upon Sister Elisabeth Manhert’z principle of Continuum of Care with physical and mental support provisions.

Today, Home Society continues in the spirit of our history by offering as much or as a little help as needed to our elderly community and beyond.
